Kate Nash has announced a UK tour in June.

The singer has been in Los Angeles writing and recording her as-yet-untitled third album, which will be released later this year. She released her debut album 'Made Of Bricks' in 2007, with its follow-up 'My Best Friend Is You' arriving in 2010.

Alongside recording the new album, it has also been revealed that Nash will star in two feature films this year, details of which are yet to be announced.

Last year she launched an after school music club for girls and has been been visiting schools around the UK trying to encourage girls to consider careers in the music industry, as well as teaching them how to play instruments and become sound engineers.

At the time she said it was "heartbreaking" that the female pupils didn't believe they could achieve a career in music and cited celebrity culture as the reason for their "insecurities".

Kate Nash will play:

Edinburgh Electric Circus (June 16)
Glasgow King Tuts (17)
Leeds Brudenell (18)
Liverpool Zanzibar (20)
Manchester Deaf Institute (21)
Nottingham Bodega (22)
Birmingham Glee Club (24)
Bristol Thekla (25)
O2 Academy Oxford 2 (26)
Brighton The Haunt (28)
Guildford Boileroom (29)
Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach (30)
