A number of Halloween gigs are taking place tonight (October 31).

In Edinburgh, Alice Cooper is performing his Halloween Night of Fear III show at Usher Hall. Read our report from Sunday's London show here.

Fred Macpherson of Spector tweeted fans to remind them to dress up for the band's Newcastle O2 Academy show, writing: "Yo Newcastle remember tonight's show is fancy dress cos it's Halloween. Best costume wins booze and a shopping spree at the merch desk x"

In London, The Polyphonic Spree are performing a set of songs from The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town.

Elsewhere in the capital, Kate Nash is performing a Buffy The Vampire Slayer-themed Halloween show at the Hackney Picturehouse, recreating the all-singing, all-dancing Once More, With Feeling episode of the cult TV show.

Earlier today, Nash posted a new Halloween-themed video, titled 'Fri-end?', which is a preview of her forthcoming EP. She writes: "Happy Halloween Dudes!! What with meeting thhhheeeeeee (Buffy character) Xander and recreating Buffy episode Once More With Feeling with my friends, this is like totes the best halloween everrrr!"
