Katy Perry has mocked tabloid newspaper The Sun for claiming a publicity photo featuring her holding a knife had sparked public outrage.
Last Wednesday (October 22) the newspaper ran a front page story claiming that the photo had sparked a storm following a series of high-profile knife crime attacks in the UK.
However, Perry has since posted a photo of her holding a spoon in a mock-pose on her blog, ">Katyperryblog.tumblr.com, along with a message slamming the paper's journalistic standards.
"I do condone eating ice cream with a very large spoon [as opposed to knife crime]," she wrote. "Dear Sun: You deserve a time out. Your 'journalistic' approach has half the soul of the National Enquirer. Shame on you."
