Katy Perry in talks to voice Smurfs character in film
Singer may portray 'Smurfette' in project

Katy Perry is reportedly set to voice a character in the forthcoming film adaptation of The Smurfs.
The singer, who is engaged to Russell Brand, is in talks to play Smurfette in the live-action/animated film, which is reportedly being directed by Raja Gosnell. It is expected to be released in 2011.
Other actors being considered for the film include Alan Cumming, George Lopez and Jonathan Winters, reports Variety. 84-year-old Winters voiced multiple Smurfs characters in the cartoon version of the show.
Belgian cartoonist Pierre 'Peyo' Culliford created the Smurfs in 1958.
