Katy Perry is currently (April 29) leading NME's poll to crown the greatest pop act ever.

Britney Spears, Cyndi Lauper and Cher complete an all-female Top 6 at present, with Michael Jackson, Pink, Shakira and The Spice Girls making up the rest of the current top 10.

Voters score each act out of ten to determine the winner - Perry currently has an average score of 7.8, compared to Madonna's 7.57 and Lady Gaga's 7.52.

Along with established names such as Prince and Kylie Minogue, newer acts such as Jessie J and The Wanted are also available to rate in the poll.

Stay tuned to NME.COM to find out the winner of the poll in May.
