Katy Perry and Lorde are Number One in the Official Albums Chart and Official Singles Chart respectively at the midweek point.

Official Chart Company data reveals that Katy Perry's new album 'Prism' is likely to knock the current Number One, John Newman's 'Tribute', off the top spot this weekend. The album does, however, face competition from James Blunt’s 'Moon Landing', which is just 7,000 copies behind. The winner of this week's chart battle will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (October 27).

Elsewhere in the Official Album Chart, Opera star Andrea Bocelli looks set to score his second Top 10 album, with 'Love In Portofino' new at Number Six. The Voice UK winner Andrea Begley's debut album 'The Message' is also a new entry at Number 10. Earth Wind & Fire (21), Poliça (24), Steven Wilson (35) and AFI (39) complete this week’s new entries.

As mentioned, Lorde is leading the race for the top spot in the Official Singles Chart today with her single 'Royals' ahead of X Factor 2013 winner James Arthur's 'You’re Nobody Til Somebody Loves You'. Other new entries at the midweek stage come from Showtek (Four), Union J (Six), Justin Bieber (Nine), Icona Pop (30), Taylor Swift (31), Sway (35), Sean Paul (37) and Dizzee Rascal (38).
