Peter Kay wins battle of 'X Factor' in the UK singles chart
Comedian Peter Kay has beaten 'X Factor' winner Leon Jackson in the singles chart today (October 19) with his spoof reality TV show song, 'The Winner's Song'.

The track, which Kay co-wrote with Take That's Gary Barlow, is from his TV show 'Britain's Got The Pop Factor...And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Strictly On Ice', a programme which satirises TV talent contests. It was aired for the first time just last Sunday. The track debuted at Number Two, behind Pink, who remains at the summit for a third week.

Jackson enters at three with 'Don't Call this Love'. He had been pushing the Simon Cowell-backed track hard all week.

'The Winner's Song' is is performed by Kay as Geraldine McQueen, a transsexual from Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile on the album chart Keane romp straight in at the top with their third album 'Perfect Symmetry', pushing Oasis' 'Dig Out Your Soul' down to Number Two. Boyzone enter at Four with comeback album 'Back Again - No Matter What'.
