RICHARDS TO REMEMBER OLD FRIEND

ROLLING STONE legend KEITH RICHARDS will pay tribute to his late pal GRAM PARSONS at two charity concerts in CALIFORNIA next month.

Richards will perform on 'Return to Sin City: A Tribute to Gram Parsons', on July 9 at the Santa Barbara Bowl and July 10 at the LA Universal Amphitheater.

He joins other stars including Norah Jones, Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams at the shows, organised by Parsons' daughter,Polly, with net proceeds going to the Musicians' Assistance Program, which provides drug and alcohol rehabilitation to members of the music industry, Reuters reports.

Parsons died of a drug overdose in Joshua Tree in 1973. A member of the Stones inner-circle in the early 70s, he is widely acknowledged with turning the band onto country rock.
