Kelis is branching out her merchandise offerings with a range of cooking sauces.

The singer, who performed at this weekend's Isle Of Wight Festival, qualified as a culinary chef during her hiatus from music over the last few years and has now decided to launch her range of sauces to show off her new skills.

Speaking about the sauces: "I love lifestyle stuff, I love housewares. I'm really a homebody, honestly. Anything to do with my kitchen, or my house, I'm all about it. I'm working on a sauce line, so that's kind of exciting. I'm a saucier."

Kelis spoke to NME over the weekend in a video which you can see at the top of the page and opened up about her progress in writing her new album, which she says is "midway through".

Asked about this, she said: "It depends what day you ask me, some days I'm like 'It's 80% done' and other days when I say 'I'm 40% done'. I'm sort of midway I guess. It's exciting though, it's more electro, it's a little deeper and darker."

The singer also spoke about working with Magnetic Man's Skream on the album, saying of this: "I was working with a friend of mine and she said 'Skream's got this great track for you, can I get him to send it?'. So I said yes and then he sent that track and something else. I've been on a real 1990s vibe with this record, it's kind of trip-hoppish. So I wrote a track to that."
