DEXY BOY?

The singer returns by recording a track with Space Raiders, and there's talk his old band might well dust off their dungarees...

KEVIN ROWLAND has recorded a ballad with big beat exponents SPACE RAIDERS and plans to make another return to the music scene, NME.COM can reveal.

The Dexys Midnight Runners founder has kept a relatively low profile since the release of his disastrously-received 'My Beauty' album in 1999, but it's likely that he'll return once again with the Space Raiders collaboration titled 'Dreamland'.

It's even touted that Rowland could reform Dexys Midnight Runners on the back of the re-release of the group's classic 1985 'Don't Stand Me Down' album, due out later this year.

A spokesperson for Rowland's management told NME.COM: "We're just deciding, now he's free of a deal after (Rowland's old label) Creation disbanded whether it's going to be a Dexys thing or a solo thing.

"Since the release of that last album, he certainly felt like he wanted a break from it all, go away for a little time and maybe do some acting, but he will come back and do music at some point."

Meanwhile, Space Raiders release a limited seven-inch titled 'Beautiful Crazy' on March 19 through Skint .
