Kid Rock sidekick pleads guilty to assault
Uncle Kracker fined and sentenced to probation
Unkle Kracker pleaded guilty today (September 28) to an assault charge stemming from an incident at a North Carolina nightclub in August.
The former Kid Rock DJ was charged after a 26-year-old woman alleged that he had committed a sexual act against her.
The woman then slapped Kracker, whose real name is Matthew Shafer, and he slapped her back, according to the District Attorney's office.
A Wake County judge has sentenced the singer to 12 months' probation, fined him $1,500 and ordered him to undergo an alcohol assessment, reports the Associated Press.
In addition to working with Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker dueted with country music star Kenny Chesney on the hit 'When The Sun Goes Down'.
