Kid Rock and The Subways are among five new acts announced to be playing the forthcoming Download festival.

The rock bash set to take place at Donington Park between June 13 and 15.

Throwdown, Bleeding Through and Black Dahlia Murder have also been added to the line-up.

Kid Rock is a controversial addition to the bill. Yesterday (March 4) Kid Rock entered a plea of not guilty for charges of battery relating to an incident last October. Kid Rock is alleged to have hit someone with a chair at a waffle house.

Download is being headlined by Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets this year.
