Detroit baseball field to be named after Kid Rock

Kid Rock has announced that he has acquired the naming rights to the home field of American League baseball team the Detroit Tigers.

The Michigan native purchased the naming rights for an undisclosed sum, which will change the name from Comerica Park to Kid Rock Field.

He has also announced that he has teamed up with the Michigan Brewing Company to create a new line of beer, which will be the official beer of the Detroit Tigers.

"This has been a dream of mine for a long time, and with the banks in trouble it seemed like the right time for me to reach out to the fine people at Comerica Bank," Kid Rock said in a statement. "I've never been more excited for opening day, and I'm proud to be able to add my name to the legacy of my favorite baseball team."

Meanwhile, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, is set to perform at Arizona's Temple Music Festival and California's Stagecoach Festival later this month.
