Online music retailer Amazon last night (June 17) accidentally offered around 30 full album downloads for just 29p - cheaper than the usual cost of a single song.

Albums by Kings Of Leon, Metallica, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and Lily Allen were all offered for bargain prices over a four-hour period.

Blogs and online discount sites quickly picked up on Amazon's mistake and alerted their readers. It is thought that the increase in sales of the discounted records could affect the album charts.

A spokesperson for Amazon has told the Telegraph: "We can confirm that earlier today there was a pricing error on a small number of MP3 albums.

"This issue has been rectified. Despite our best efforts, with the millions of items available on our website, pricing errors can occur."
