Kings Of Leon have revealed they turned down having their music used in the TV show Glee, as well as a cameo in Ugly Betty.

The band, speaking in the cover feature of the new issue of NME, on UK newsstands today (August 18), said that they turned down the offers to refrain from "selling out".

Bassist Jared Followill said: "We got an offer to appear on an episode of Ugly Betty. They wanted us to play ourselves. We were supposed to come in and help her out with some problem or other."

The band also confirmed they had rejected an offer from Glee, with Jared saying: "We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly."

Pick up the new issue of NME (out nationwide from August 18) for the full Kings Of Leon interview. NME is on UK newsstands, or available digitally worldwide right now.
