Kings Of Leon closed the V Festival in Stafford tonight (August 22), with frontman Caleb Followill declaring the headline slot one of his "favourite shows ever".

The band drew the biggest crowd of the weekend to the Main Stage as they brought the two-day bash to a close, showcasing three new songs – 'Mary', 'Radioactive' and 'Back Down South' – from their forthcoming debut 'Come Around Sundown'.

They also mixed up the set from their Chelmsford show last night (August 21) throwing in 'Charmer' and 'Slow Night So Long' alongside crowd favourites 'On Call', 'The Bucket' and 'Notion'.

Singer Caleb Followill hailed the crowd early on, declaring: "I can already tell there is something in the air tonight. We are going to have a good time alright."

Later he added: "We were hoping that tonight would be a good show. I can assure you we had no idea you guys were going to be as good as you are. This is going to go down as one of my favourite shows in a long time."

Their Number One hit 'Sex On Fire' drew the biggest cheer as the whole crowd sang along to the chorus.

Introducing the track, Caleb said: "What a beautiful night, there's no rain. You guys going to sing along to the next one?"

The band drew a similar response when they performed 'Only By The Night' hit single 'Use Somebody' near the end of the set.
