Kings Of Leon and Beyoncé play private New Year's Eve gigs

The Followills perform for 400 party-goers in the Caribbean, while Beyonce sings for 700 in Las Vegas

Kings Of Leon and Beyoncé both played private shows on New Year's Eve.

The Followills saw in 2013 by performing at an exclusive party attended by 400 guests including P Diddy, Roger Waters and Rick Rubin. The bash, which was thrown by Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, took place on a yacht on the Caribbean island of St Barts and cost a reported £5million to put on.

Meanwhile, Beyonce gave a private show for 700 guests at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Shortly after the gig, the singer posted a handwritten message for her fans on Instagram. She wrote: "In our perfect ways, in the ways we are beautiful, in the ways we are human, we are here. Happy New Year, let's make it ours – Beyonce."

Kings Of Leon are currently working on their sixth LP, the follow-up to 2010's 'Come Around Sundown'. The band recently confirmed details of a UK tour and will play shows in London, Manchester and Birmingham in June and July.

Beyoncé is gearing up for her half-time performance at the Super Bowl, which takes place on February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The singer has just announced a competition to find 100 fans to join her onstage during the show.
