Kings Of Leon and Beyoncé both played private shows on New Year's Eve.

The Followills saw in 2013 by performing at an exclusive party attended by 400 guests including P Diddy, Roger Waters and Rick Rubin. The bash, which was thrown by Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, took place on a yacht on the Caribbean island of St Barts and cost a reported £5million to put on.

Meanwhile, Beyonce gave a private show for 700 guests at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Shortly after the gig, the singer posted a handwritten message for her fans on Instagram. She wrote: "In our perfect ways, in the ways we are beautiful, in the ways we are human, we are here. Happy New Year, let's make it ours – Beyonce."

Kings Of Leon are currently working on their sixth LP, the follow-up to 2010's 'Come Around Sundown'. The band recently confirmed details of a UK tour and will play shows in London, Manchester and Birmingham in June and July.

Beyoncé is gearing up for her half-time performance at the Super Bowl, which takes place on February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The singer has just announced a competition to find 100 fans to join her onstage during the show.
