Kings Of Leon have praised Nashville, saying that all of the talented new bands around come from their local area.

The band, who recently set up a record label, told AllSaints that the area now has its own new identity. Jared Followill said: "It has just morphed into this new national sound that I don’t think was ever there before."

Explaining how a mix of new bands and established figures help make up the scene, Nathan Followill continued: "We moved here and made our home. Jack White moved here, and The Black Keys moved here. We got looked down on for being rock bands and, now, it’s like every band that you hear that is hot right now is based out in Nashville."

Serpents & Snakes , the label set up by Kings Of Leon, has already signed Nashville band The Weeks to its roster. "First of all, seeing The Weeks, physically, I thought we were separated at birth, because they like to rock the locks like I do," jokes Nathan. "You can just see that half innocence, half hunger in their eyes. Just bright eyed and ready to take on the world and like, y’know, come what may. We’re just gona kick ass."

Meanwhile, Kings Of Leon recently revealed that their new album is "much more musically complicated" than previous efforts. Followill revealed a few details of the band's forthcoming sixth studio album, the follow up to 'Come Around Sundown', in a Q&A with fans on Twitter earlier this week (May 27). Asked by one fan if the album will sound more like the "rookie" Kings Of Leon Followill replied: "Not really. There are definitely elements of it. Songs. Not as a whole though. It's a culmination of all of them."
