Paul Stanley doesn't want band to 'remain a heritage act'

Kiss have revealed they might be heading back to the studio soon to work on new tracks - despite previously saying they were concentrating on touring old material.

The band, who have been going round the globe for the past year playing hits, will be heading out to play shows in Europe and America soon - but haven't ruled out settling down to work on a new album.

Speaking to Classicrockmagazine.com lead singer Paul Stanley said: "There might even be a new Kiss album at some point. I have been ambivalent to the idea in the past but I'm much more open to it now.

"I thought that I'd be content for Kiss to remain a heritage act," he added, "just playing our greatest hits – 'Detroit Rock City' and all that. But the new Kiss line-up with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer is proving to be so good, so strong in spirit, it would interesting to see how we perform in the studio."

Stanley added that although the band haven't scheduled any studio time as yet, if they did head back into record the songs would recall Kiss' trademark glam rock sound.

"If we were to go into the studio the intention would be to make a Kiss album in the style of our '70s recordings. A classic Kiss album, unmistakably," Stanley concluded.
