Klaxons launch stage invasion against 'MySpace Tom' at NME Awards USA
Mark Ronson joins in and takes a tumble
Klaxons invaded the stage twice at the first ever NME Awards USA tonight (April 23) when they accosted a bemused Tom 'MySpace' Anderson as he was presenting the Band Of The Year gong to The Killers.
Joined by Mark Ronson, they ambled up to the podium as everyone's MySpace friend attempted to announce the nominees in the category.
Ronson barely made it to the podium before falling backwards through the red velvet curtain ahead of Jane's Addiction's landmark reunion performance. As the show continued, Ronson's prostrate feet were all that could be seen of him, poking onto the stage.
At one point a concerned Tom Anderson, founder of MySpace, lifted the curtain to check if Ronson was alright.
Ronson remained conspicuously absent afterwards, re-emerging into the crowd for the Godlike Geniuses performance.
He later sheepishly told NME.COM: "I choreographed that fall... But it's going to end up in The Sun tomorrow isn't it?"
Earlier in the evening Klaxons' Jamie Reynolds revealed to NME.COM that he will be a special guest for Ronson's Coachella Festival performance this weekend (April 26-28).
"I'm just here to win awards tonight," he explained. "Then I'm just going to show up and sing 'Stop Me' (a cover of The Smiths' 'Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before') with Mark Ronson at Coachella."
