Klaxons debut new songs in London Klaxons Tickets

Band play tiny club show in the capital

Klaxons played a show at the White Heat club night at London's Madame Jojo's venue earlier tonight (February 3), debuting a series of new songs destined for their forthcoming second album.

Fans queued around the block to see the four-piece play new songs 'Moonhead', 'Imaginary Pleasures', 'In Silver Forest' and 'Valley Of The Calm Trees'.

Taking the stage at 10pm (GMT) wearing some unusual costumes, frontman Jamie Reynolds sported a large tutu and formal jacket with tails, while guitarist Simon Taylor wore small blue shorts and tights.

The new songs, showcased in front of a packed crowd that included Mark Ronson, former Dirty Pretty Things guitarist Anthony Rossomando and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man's Frederick Blood-Royale, boasted a rockier edge than those on the band's debut album, 'Myths Of The Near Future'.

Shunning samples and showcasing a chunky, guitar-driven sound, the four new tracks still offered up the band's trademark melodic choruses and harmony-driven hooks.

"I'm a bit nervous," Reynolds told NME.COM before the show. "It's kind of hard playing [in] such a small place, making eye contact with people you know while you're playing new songs. It's kind of easier playing in Brazil!"

Klaxons ended their set with a rapturously-received version of 'Atlantis To Interzone'.

They also hinted that they are set to announce details of further small London gigs soon.
