Klaxons to launch new album at Reading And Leeds Festivals

Simon Taylor-Davies says headline tent show will be first major airing

Klaxons are set to launch their second album campaign at the Reading And Leeds Festivals, guitarist Simon Taylor-Davies has declared.

The band are set to play a headline slot on the NME/Radio 1 Stage at the event, which takes place on August 27-29.

Taylor-Davies told NME.COM that the band plan to release their second album in the latter half of 2010 and use the festival to announce their return.

“I think in England it’s just going to be Reading and Leeds in terms of festivals this summer,” he said. “Then we’ll tour all the way through to the next festivals. I think we’ll do a few spot shows around the summer, but this will be our big comeback.”

He added: “One of the fundamental things about this new record is how much of a live record it is: it was written and recorded with the four of us in a room facing each, in a room that was about three metres squared.”
