Klaxons headlined the second night of the Hartera Festival in Croatia in the early hours of this morning (June 13), exactly a year after the band pulled out at the final hour due to illness.

The four-piece, who brought in former Dirty Pretty Things guitarist Anthony Rossomando to perform on keyboards and Q Chord for the gig, played the same 14-song set that they played on their recent UK tour, showcasing seven new songs from their long-awaited second album at the all-night festival, staged in a converted paper factory in the city of Rijeka.

Kicking off with recent download giveaway 'Flashover', which you can watch below, the four-piece went on to play a further six new songs, 'Same Space', 'Valley Of The Calm Trees', 'Twin Flames', 'Echoes', 'Astronomical' and 'Future Memories', on the Tuborg Main Stage.

'Same Space' got a warm reception from the crowd early on, which singer Jamie Reynolds acknowledged at the end of the song when he told the audience: "You're very kind, thank you so much. It is a pleasure to be here for the first time in Croatia. Let's have some fun."

The four-piece then launched into 'Gravity's Rainbow' to huge cheers, before the bassist later dedicated single 'Golden Skans' to "each and every member" of the crowd.

Speaking to NME.COM before the gig, Reynolds said the show meant a lot to the band after they pulled out last year due to singer and keyboard player James Righton being ill.

"We couldn't play last year because James was sick so it feels like a bit of return for us and we feel we owe these guys a gig," he said. "This is our first gig abroad since last September so it's nice to come out here and play.

"It's good that we came back this year too because we are in a different spot now, in the sense that we're playing seven new tracks and the set is completely new."

He added: "As for the new stuff, nobody knows it but they still seem to be humming the words."

Klaxons played:
