Klaxons played a secret headline show at The Great Escape in brighton last night (April 8).

The gig, which took place at The Warren, was announced at 7pm that evening (April 8) via Radio One, filling the previously unannounced late-night slot after Gorgon City's set.

Fans queued down the road from the venue to gain access to the 400-capacity space to watch the band, who took to the stage at 12:30am.

Wearing co-ordinated metallic suits, the trio – who are currently gearing up to release their third album 'Love Frequency' – entered to debut album track 'Atlantis to Interzone' before launching into recent single 'Children of the Sun'.

Dedicating the next track to "the lads at Gorgon City", the band then kicked into single 'There Is No Other Time' before moving into old hit 'Golden Skans'.

Addressing the crowd for the first time, frontman Jamie Reynolds declared that "that was absolutely mega, thank you very much," before continuing: "I don't know if any of you listen to the radio, but this next one's our current single." The group then continued with 'Show Me A Miracle' and then another cut from their forthcoming LP, 'Invisible Forces'.

Bringing out 'Echoes' - the only offering from their second album, 2010's 'Surfing The Void', in the set – the group then went back into another debut album track 'Magick', with the front portion of the crowd forming mosh pits throughout. Talking to the audience again, Reynolds then pronounced, "You're absolutely mental, Brighton. For one reason or another, tonight is short but sweet. We'll leave you with this." The band then ended with old single 'It's Not Over Yet' to huge cheers before leaving the stage.

'Love Frequency' is set for release on June 2.
