Justin Timberlake looks set to topple David Bowie in midweek update

Kodaline on course for single success with 'High Hopes'

Irish band Kodaline look set for a high new entry of the Official Single Chart in the UK this weekend as Justin Timberlake pulls ahead of David Bowie in the Album Chart in the midweek update.

Reports from the Official Chart Company indicate that only Kodaline and The Saturdays are on course for high new entries with the group's 'What About Us', a collaboration with Sean Paul, likely to see them land their first UK Number One. Kodaline have the second highest entry of the week with 'High Hopes' currently charting at number 13. As it stands, Justin Timberlake's three-week reign at the top of the charts with his hit 'Mirrors' will come to an end on Sunday (March 24), the hit single is currently at Number Two having slipped one place.

Other new entries for the top 40 this week include British DJ and producer Jakwob, who is new in at 31 with 'Fade', while boyband Reconnected, who are signed to the label set up by Dragon's Den star Duncan Bannatyne, are at 32 with their song 'One In A Million'. Rock acts 30 Seconds To Mars and Paramore round out the Top 40 with their tracks 'Up In The Air' and 'Still Into You' charting at 37 and 40 respectively.

David Bowie's one-week reign at the top of the Official Album Chart also looks set to end with Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience' currently selling strongly. The new album from the US pop star has sold 57,000 copies since its release on Monday (March 25), putting it currently ahead of the competition. Should sales stay the same, this would mark Timberlake's third UK Album chart topper in a row.

There are 11 new album entries on the chart outside the Top Five with Suede currently at Number 7 and Billy Bragg's 'Tooth & Nail' at Number Nine. Elsewhere, albums by Daughter, Hadouken!, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Woodkid, Steve Mason, Alex Day, Low, Clutch and Mart Pellow are all in the Top 40.
