Korn pay tribute to dead fan Korn Tickets
The band appeal for witnesses to come forward
Korn have paid tribute to a fan who died after a brawl broke out at one of their shows in Atlanta.
The band have offered their condolences to Andy Richardson’s family after the incident during the Family Values Tour at the HiFi Buys Ampitheatre.
They have also appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place last Sunday (July 30), to come forward.
The 30-year-old was allegedly beaten by two men after he asked them to be careful not to hurt his pregnant girlfriend and a mentally impaired child with him.
Writing on their official website, the band said: "All the bands on The Family Values Tour offer their sincerest condolences and prayers to the family of 30-year-old Andy Richardson.
"Korn are appalled at the actions of these men and are imploring anyone who witnessed this or has any information about the attack to please immediately come forward by contacting local authorities."
Richardson was officially pronounced dead at 2pm US time on Tuesday (August 1) after he was placed on a life support machine.
Atlanta Police Department have launched a murder investigation following the incident.
A police spokesperson said no arrests have been made so far but they have a vague description of the assailant, reports mtv.com.
Jack Gannon, a spokesperson for House of Blues, the Californian company that runs HiFi Buys Amphitheatre, called the incident "unfortunate and tragic" and said his company is "cooperating fully with the Atlanta Police Department investigation".
