GOTTA WERK THAT BODY
Plus, new single to get UK release after all...
These are the new Kraftwerk robots, photographed last week in Bonn, Germany
The likenesses of founder members Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter were created to promote Kraftwerk's first new material since 1986.
As reported last week by nme.com, their new single, 'Expo 2000', is released in Germany on December 6 through Kling Klang/ EMI to mark the beginning of the Expo 2000 European Business Conference, held in Hanover. But following that report, there are plans to release it here in the UK some time next year.
Kraftwerk were originally approached to compose a 'soundbite' for the conference but ended up developing their ideas into a single.
A UK spokesperson for the band said there were no firm plans for a new Kraftwerk album despite reports in the German press, but added that Schneider and Hutter were working on new material and that "anything is possible with Kraftwerk".
