NEWCASTLE - CITY OF 'CULTURAMA'!

The 'CULTURAMA' hip-hop film festival will visit the UK for the first time next month after screenings in NEW YORK and HOLLYWOOD.

The event will take place at Newcastle-upon-Tyne's Tyneside Cinema on April 17 and will feature exclusive videos and documentary footage from independent US hip-hop artists.

KRS-One, Buck 65, Swollen Members, Sadat X and People Under The Stairs are amongst the artists involved with the project. J Rawls (Lone Catalysts) and DJ Thanksgiving Brown (Female Fun) will be playing at the festival.

The creator of Culturama, Peter Agosten, says that he was initially influenced by docu-filmaker Nick Broomfield and started his first film taking footage of the Wu-Tang Clan.
