Kylie Minogue has announced details of her new single.

The singer will release 'Into The Blue' on March 16, a track on which she has worked with Kelly Sheehan, who has in the past worked with Mary J Blige, Beyonce and Rita Ora. An album will follow later in the year. Producers on the album include Greg Kurstin, Pharrell Williams, MNEK and Ariel Rechtshaid. The latter recently co-produced Haim's debut 'Days Are Gone'.

Announcing the single, Kylie said in a statement: "2013 was a year of big change, planning and preparation for me and I'm so excited that 2014 is finally here so I can share this new music . 'Into The Blue' is really special to me as it encapsulates a lot of what I've been feeling - I can't wait for it to be out there."

It's the first new studio album from Kylie since 2010's 'Aphrodite', which was regarded as a comeback after suffering breast cancer. That album, which included collaborations with Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears and Calvin Harris, debuted at Number One on the UK Album Chart. There have been compilations released since 2010, as well as 'The Abbey Road Sessions' in 2012, a collection of orchestral re-recordings of her most-famous songs.

Earlier this week Kylie also teased an image of the video for 'Into The Blue' on her Instagram account, which you can see here.

Last year Kylie announced she had signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation management. By signing with Roc Nation, it's thought that Kylie is trying to finally crack the US market – where she has struggled to reach the same levels of success she's had in the UK and her native Australia.

The statement at the time said: "In a career now spanning 25 years, Kylie has released 11 studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVDs, a greatest hits double album, and multiple video packages. She has released over 50 hit singles worldwide, including the Grammy-winning 'Come Into My World', and has sold more than 68 million albums worldwide. Needless to say, we’re excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam."
