Kylie Minogue for Glastonbury 2007

Organisers are ‘hopeful’ the singer will play

Kylie Minogue for Glastonbury 2007

Kylie Minogue is in line to play next year’s Glastonbury Festival after being forced to miss last year’s bash through illness.

The singer was due to headline on the Sunday night in 2005, but was forced to cancel all her live commitments last year after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

However, according to Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis, Minogue is still keen to play the festival.

“I speak to her people regularly,” Eavis told Associated Press. “They’re hopeful, I do hope she's fit enough, she really wants to do it.”

Meanwhile, Eavis and many of the other festival organisers were in London last night (April 12) for the premiere of the film 'Glastonbury'.

Charting the festival’s 35-year history the film, which uses a mixture of official and fan footage, was watched by festival veterans Billy Bragg and Rolf Harris along with Eavis and director Julian Temple.

The film is now been screened around the country in Bristol tonight (April 13), before moving to Leeds (14) and Glasgow (15). A DVD release is expected later in the year.
