Kylie to close Glasto 2007?
Michael Eavis is 'hopeful' she will play on the final night
The singer, who pulled out of last year's three day event after being struck down with breast cancer, has been strongly linked with a headlining slot at next year's festival in recent months.
She is due to perform her rescheduled Showgirl Homecoming dates at Wembley Arena in January 2007 and Eavis is hopeful that Kylie will headline Glastonbury 2007 on the Sunday.
He told The Sun newspaper: "We speak to her people, we don't speak to her in person but we're hopeful it's going to happen.
"I think she wants to do it, she's a hardworking girl and she enjoys the challenge. And she'd have the time of her life here."
Eavis also hinted at a surprise performance from a band who haven't played together for 35 years on the Friday night.
He added: "At the time they were one of the biggest bands in the world. No one can guess who they are, it's a lovely mystery.
"They will play on the Friday night, either the penultimate or two down from the top on the billing."
Kylie will perform at Wembley Arena on January 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 next year.
