Kylie Minogue postpones UK tour dates

Kylie Minogue has postponed further UK tour dates after abandoning her gig in Manchester on Saturday night (January 13) due to illness.

As previously reported, the star, who has only recently recovered from breast cancer, was forced to stop performing at the Manchester Evening News Arena.

Now it's been revealed that Monday and Tuesday's shows (January 15 and 16) have been postponed, though the shows on Thursday and Friday (18 and 19) are not thought to be affected.

Fans have been told to hang on to their tickets and await further announcements. The promoters have confirmed they will reschedule the dates at the earliest possible opportunity, though it's not clear whether Saturday's truncated show will be rearranged.

A spokesperson for the star told BBC News that doctors have ordered her to rest after diagnosing a respiratory tract infection.

The star was playing the second of six performances of her Showgirl Homecoming jaunt in the city, after a successful run of seven dates at London's Wembley Arena.

Kylie was revealed as having been diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005. After recovering, she returned to live performance late last year. A new studio album, the follow-up to 2004's 'Body Language', is due later this year.

It was recently revealed that her expected Glastonbury headline slot, which she was forced to cancel in 2005, will not happen this year because she is too busy around that time.
