Explosives to be stored near Kylie and Fatboy Slim?
Port want to place ammonium nitrate in Brighton
The site near to where Kylie Minogue has been looking to buy a property and where Fatboy Slim lives could become a dumping ground for explosives.
Shoreham Port bosses have launched a bid to store potentially explosive chemical fertiliser in Shoreham Harbour close to Western Esplanade in Brighton, reports The Argus.
Up to 2,8000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate could be stored there if the bid is successful.
The port have applied to Brighton And Hove City Council for consent to store the material, which can explode if it catches fire and has been used in some bombs.
Apparently Minogue was interested in buying a property on the strip, nicknames Millionaire’s Row.
A letter has been sent to Adur District Council on behalf of some Western Esplanade residents objecting to the plans.
