Singer admits doctors initially missed her breast cancer
Kylie Minogue has admitted that doctors initially failed to diagnose her with breast cancer.
The singer said she was initially misdiagnosed by her first doctor and carried on performing her Showgirl tour in 2005 after being told that she was perfectly healthy.
Speaking on Ellen DeGeneres' US chat show, she said: "Listen, this is an opportunity for me to say something that I have not said before. I was misdiagnosed initially.
"I had just had a mammogram and they didn't find anything and a couple of weeks later I found a lump.
"Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right."
Minogue also warned other women who suspect they may have the disease to follow their intuition and if they have any doubt go back to the doctors again.
The singer was forced to pull out of a Glastonbury headline slot after she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005.
