Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is a fraction of the price this Cyber Monday

The Black Series model is 50% off today

There’s a scene in Arrested Development – itself a parody of a viral 2002 video – that will resonate with anyone who grew up with Star Wars. In the clip, a pre-teen George Michael Bluth (Michael Cera) imitates an iconic scene from The Empire Strikes Back, using a broom in place of a lightsaber, flailing it around in his garage and quoting lines from the film. It’s lame and awkward and yet, somehow, pretty adorable too.

The power of imagination is a formidable thing, sure, but this Cyber Monday deal from Tesco could be tempting to anyone buying for broom-flailing Star Wars fans. Down 50% from its £200 RRP, the ‘The Black Series Kylo Ren Force FX Deluxe Lightsaber’ – aka Kylo Ren’s weird crossguard lightsaber – is just £100 now. The hugely detailed model comes with light and sound effects to accompany motion, the hilt is made of real metal, and it comes with a display stand too, in case you want to keep it on show.

Elsewhere on the internet today, Cyber Monday offers include huge reductions on the Nintendo Switch, a half-price dancing Groot toy, and up to 30% off vinyl turntables at Amazon.

Keep an eye on NME.com for more Cyber Monday deals as they come in.
