La Roux's Elly Jackson has revealed that she no longer speaks to former bandmember Ben Langmaid.

Speaking to The Observer, Jackson discussed splitting from her songwriting partner in 2011, and said that her new single 'Let Me Down Gently' was a song that Ben "wasn't into". She added that the split came about as after she returned from touring her debut album "I felt that the artist that I'd decided to be, Ben didn't agree with".

She added: "On the first record we would talk a lot and it became very emotional. One of [Langmaid's] biggest roles was [being someone] I could go and talk to about lots of very personal stuff at length and then write about. But for want of a better way of saying it, I didn't need that any more. I felt I could do that with a number of people."

In the interview Jackson also discusses anxiety and panic attacks which plagued her after the release of her 2009 debut album 'La Roux'. "It was about eight months in and there were tours appearing in front of my eyes. I felt a loss of control… and I'm a massive control freak," she said.

The singer recently added an extra London date to her UK tour, which takes place in November. The show takes place on November 12 at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, 'Trouble In Paradise' will be released via Polydor on July 7. Song titles include 'Paradise Is You', 'Sexotheque' and 'Tropical Chancer'. Jackson previously spoke to NME about the delay in releasing the album, saying: "I realised the album I wanted to make would require me being a much better musician than I was. There's been a lot of learning and it's been fun and I didn't want it to stop, basically."

La Roux will play:

London Conway Hall (July 1)
Glasgow O2 ABC (November 5)
Leeds Metropolitan University (7)
Birmingham Institute (8)
Bristol Academy (10)
O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (12)
Norwich UEA (14)
Oxford Academy (15)
Manchester Ritz (16)
