Band post cryptic 'new things' message on Twitter

Twitter, La Roux
La Roux have teased the prospect of their long-awaited second album on Twitter.

The duo, who released their self-titled debut album in 2009 and have been working on a follow-up for the past several years, hinted that they would be making an announcement soon after posting a new promotional image accompanied by the cryptic message 'new things'. You can see the post below.

Speaking previously to NME about the delay in releasing their second album, singer Elly Jackson said: "I realised the album I wanted to make would require me being a much better musician than I was. There's been a lot of learning and it's been fun and I didn't want it to stop, basically."

La Roux will also play a string of US and Canadian shows this summer. The dates are as follows:

Toronto Danforth Music Hall (June 1)
Montreal Metropolis (2)
Boston Paradise Rock Club (3)
New York Governors Ball Music Festival (6)
Philadelphia Trocadero Theatre (7)
Washington DC 9:30 Club (8)
San Francisco Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (with New Order) (July 11)
San Diego House of Blues (with New Order) (12)
Los Angeles Greek Theatre (with New Order) (13)
