Lady Gaga becomes first artist to sell over 20 million digital singles

Singer also garners new fashion accolade

Lady Gaga has become the first musician to achieve over 20 million digital singles sales.

The singer has been recognised by the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) as the highest-certified artist of digital singles in Gold (500,000 units sold) and Platinum (1,000,000 units sold) history, reports Hollyscoop.com.

Her single 'Just Dance' has gone six times platinum, 'Poker Face' five times platinum and 'Bad Romance' four times platinum. 'Paparazzi' and 'Love Game' were not far behind.

Gaga is also set to be honoured by the Council of Fashion Designers of America soon with a Fashion Icon Award.

The awards ceremony will take place in New York on June 6 at the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center.
