Lady Gaga was egged upon leaving a nightclub in Sydney earlier this week (July 11).

The incident occurred after she had spent a night bar-hopping around the city, having played impromptu shows at two of the city’s top gay clubs.

Leaving the ARQ venue, an onlooker hurled the eggs at her, according to the Daily Mail. The website reports that Gaga kept her composure, smiling throughout the incident. However, as she passed along, one of the projectiles hit a man in the crowd in the face.

Earlier in the evening, Gaga made another unannounced appearance at gay venue Nevermind, where she performed her most recent singles 'Born This Way', 'Judas' and 'The Edge Of Glory'.

Earlier on, she had teased the performances via Twitter.com.LadyGaga, writing: "Thinking of going out in Sydney tonight. How I wish we had a show. NEVERMIND, don’t listen to me. Maybe I’ll just got for a walk in the pARQ."

During her visit, the singer was made an honorary citizen of Sydney for her campaigning work for gay rights. Mayor Clover Moore said: "Lady Gaga has been a powerful force for the gay and lesbian community in Sydney and we have a rare honour for people whose achievements embrace the ideals and spirit of our city."
