Lady Gaga has become the first person to reach 18 million followers on Twitter.
The milestone comes less than a year after the singer became the first person to score 10 million followers on the social networking site.
She wrote on her Twitter page Twitter.com/ladygaga:
Can't believe I have 18,000,000 TwitterMonsters, really rad, was just a few years ago I had barely any.
Gaga beat Justin Bieber by nearly two million fans and Katy Perry who was way back in third on 13.9 million. She also currently has over 46 million followers on Facebook.
The singer recently confirmed that she plans to release another album later this year.
She added: "I just want to keep going. I'm not as goal obsessed as I am process obsessed. I just want to keep writing music. I'm looking forward to putting out another album and going on tour."
Last month, Gaga revealed that she had already chosen a name for her new album and had started to pen tunes for the LP. She had previously claimed that she was planning a duet with Elton John for the record.
