Lady Gaga's producer Zedd has told MTV News that there's still a lot of work left to do on the artist's upcoming third studio album.

The 'Born This Way' singer announced her new album 'ARTPOP' back in August but Zedd has said: "There's still a lot of work left, so we're definitely gonna work on this project for the next month." He added: "We've been working on it for over a year now."

Zedd suggested that it was down to their busy schedules that progress on the album had been slow, saying: "The problem with her is obviously that I'm busy and I tour a lot, but she's probably a lot busier than I am, so it's hard to find time to work on something together."

Lady Gaga recently told her fans that the reason the new album was taking so long was because of her insistence on writing all her own material and not accepting songs written by other people.

"I feel so bad. I know you all wanna kill me," she told fans on her Little Monsters social networking site. "But nobody writes my songs for me! Every single song you've ever heard by me, I created from nothing with friends. So it takes some time. New inspiration. New sounds. New experiences."

Lady Gaga is currently on the North American edition of the Born This Way Ball tour, which will keep her on the road until March 20.
