Lady Gaga has confirmed that her new album ‘ARTPOP’ will be released as part of an app in November.
The pop star confirmed the release date of her eagerly awaited third album via her Facebook page, issuing a statement which explains just how the ‘ARTPOP’ app will work. According to the statement, “the app itself is a musical and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive world-wide community”. The first single from the album/ app will be released on August 19.
Elaborating further on the details of the album and app release, the statement continues: “The album ‘ARTPOP’ musically mirrors Gaga’s creative process as she passes through the mediums of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint of her journey. The result, a “rage” of electronic passion and fury, defining each artistic process from beginning to end, ‘ARTPOP’ could mean anything. But for her, this is a celebration of obsession.”
Earlier this week, Apple refused to comment on speculation that Gaga will make her live return at this Autumn’s iTunes Festival at London’s Roundhouse.
The singer, who has spent most of 2013 recovering from hip surgery will, reportedly, play as part of the festival to launch her new album.
However, Apple refused to comment on the report this morning (July 11). “Apple does not comment on rumour or speculation,” a spokesperson told NME.
