Lady Gaga collaborator DJ White Shadow has said that the winger's forthcoming album 'ARTPOP' is "really fun" and suggested it will provide inspiration for great live shows.

DJ White Shadow worked with Gaga on her 2011 album 'Born This Way' and has also contributed to her forthcoming third studio album. Speaking to MTV News, he described the record as "another step up on the ladder" and revealed that Gaga has planned the release since she started work on the release as soon as her last album was released.

"It's just another step on the ladder, it's another step forward. It's different, it's a different record," Shadow said. "We didn't sit down and say 'ARTPOP has to be this'. It's like that's how she's feeling at the time. I think it's a really fun album. There's really fun stuff on there. We didn't make 15 trees; we made a forest. She's writing every single song, so they're coming from her."

Discussing the long-term plans for the album, he continued: "It was less than a week that she had hit me [after Born This Way]... and she literally sent me [the note] 'The next album's called ARTPOP'. She had the name and the general concept for the record a week after Born This Way came out."

"I am excited for [her] to be able to perform a bunch of new songs. Her concerts are always so fun and this music is so fun. I just know the performances are so fun. I'm just looking forward to the next tour. It's going to be a cool tour."

Lady Gaga unveiled seven new songs from her forthcoming album 'ARTPOP' at her London comeback gig last night (September 1). The singer opened this year's iTunes Festival with a typically theatrical performance which featured some kind of costume or wig change for every song and several lengthy explanations about the inspiration for her new material.
