A bodyguard who worked for the likes of Lady Gaga and Jay-Z was tasered to death by police while naked earlier this week (September 2), according to reports.

Norman Oosterbroek, 43, also provided security for famous figures including Beyonce, Rihanna and Nelson Mandela. According to the Miami Herald, he was involved in an altercation on the night of his death when he broke into a mansion naked at 10.45pm. The owners of the house, Markus and Christiane Jung, reported the incident to the police when they realised they had an intruder.

Police arrived on the scene to find Oosterbroek fighting with Mr Jung, and also allegedly witnessed the bodyguard ingesting an unknown substance. They tasered him in the chest, causing him to collapse, and he was later pronounced dead at the nearby Baptist Hospital.

Speaking about the incident, Miami-Dade police spokesperson Nancy Perez said: "He was highly violent, uncontrollable and obviously wasn't stable." It is also claimed that officers believed he had taken cocaine, due to his heightened body temperature, with Detective Javier Baez adding: "We're still awaiting toxicology reports. It's possible that he may have been under some type of a narcotics. Again, he was observed swallowing, ingesting some kind of substance, unknown substance that is."

Meanwhile, Christiane Jung said: "Our family needs time to heal. This was really, really horrible and we can’t talk about it now. I can tell you that Pinecrest police took very good care of us. It was horrifying."

Oosterbroek married his girlfriend April McDaniel in 2009, and also had two children.
