Singer announces her next 'ARTPOP' single on Twitter

Lady Gaga has revealed that her next single will be ‘Venus’.

The singer took to Twitter late Thursday night (October 10) to tell her fans that if enough of them guessed the title of the next single off her new album ‘ARTPOP’ correctly, then she would reveal it to the world.

After a few incorrect responses, her “Little Monsters” – the collective name given to her fans – #Venus began trending worldwide, prompting Lady Gaga to end the game and officially announce the title of her next single.

She wrote:

Last week, Gaga revealed the full tracklist for her upcoming album ‘ARTPOP’ as well as new song ‘Aura’ from the album. Gaga confirmed the running order of her third album on Twitter by retweeting a group of fans she had commissioned to paint a mural of the song titles on a wall in Los Angeles. Tweeting her 40m followers, Gaga wrote: “Known as the LA Rivington Rebels, they’ve been sleeping outside of the Record Plant (my studio) for a month! Sleeping bags, booze & all.”

Lady Gaga unveiled seven new songs from ‘ARTPOP’ at her London comeback gig on September 1. The singer opened this year’s iTunes Festival with a typically theatrical performance which featured some kind of costume or wig change for every song and several lengthy explanations about the inspiration for her new material.
