Lady Gaga attacked her critics in an online rant leading up to the release of her new single 'Do What U Want'.

The song, a collaboration with R Kelly, went online today (October 21) with Gaga posting about those who have criticised her for copying Madonna, being fat, taking drugs and not getting to Number One with her last single 'Applause' in the run-up to the track hitting iTunes.

Another tweet included a picture of herself performing live at Glastonbury taken from a site using it as evidence that Lady Gaga has a penis. Gaga posted the picture alongside the message, "LADY GAGA IS A HERMAPHRODITE! LOOK AT THIS PIC OF HER D*CK #DoWhatUWantWithMyBody."

Posting a series of tweets, Gaga addressed each criticism individually and offered her own rebuttal to each one. In one instance, when tackling the issue of 'Applause'’s perceived failure after Katy Perry's 'Roar' outsold the single, Gaga tweeted: "APPLAUSE didn't DEBUT AT #1! KATY IS BETTER THAN HER! #UWontUseMyMind I write for the music not the charts."

On Thursday (October 17), the US pop star shared a brief snippet of 'Do What U Want' via an advert for Beats and Best Buy. It follows on from the 12 seconds of another new track, 'GUY (Girl Under You)', posted on her official YouTube channel earlier last week.

'Do What U Want' will appear on Gaga's new album 'ARTPOP' which is released in November. The single's cover art shows the singer posing in a floral thong. 'ARTPOP' is released on November 11 and will include the single 'Applause' as well as appearances by rappers TI, Twista and Too $short on a track called 'Jewels N' Drugs'. Other song titles on the album include 'Sexxx Dreams', 'Donatella', 'Swine' and 'Fashion!'. Gaga will hold an invite-only album playback on October 24 at Berlin club Berghain, famous for its hedonistic parties and strict door policy.

The 'ARTPOP' tracklisting is as follows:

'GUY (Girl Under You)'
'Sexxx Dreams'
'Jewels N’ Drugs' (feat. TI, Too Short, and Twista)
'Do What U Want' (feat. R Kelly)
'Mary Jane Holland'
'Dope (Formerly I Wanna Be With You)'
