Lady Gaga to release 'ARTPOP' album early
The record will be available via the O2 Tracks music app six days ahead of official release on November 11
The LP will be available through the O2 Tracks music app from November 5, six days ahead of its official release on November 11.
Gaga will also appear in a TV for the network, The Guardian reports.
O2 Tracks was launched in February as a partnership between the mobile phone network and British startup MusicQubed. The app is available for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and BlackBerry smartphones and enables people to download each week's Top 40 singles chart to their handset as a cost of £1 per week.
It had been expected that Gaga would give fans a first taste of the album via her own official app for the album, which was announced back in the summer by the singer as "an interactive jewel case".
O2 is describing the deal as "exclusive", which suggests the album won't also be available for pre-release stream on iTunes, Spotify or other music services in the UK.
Earlier this year, Jay Z also struck a deal with Samsung to give away one milliont copies of his Magna Carta Holy Grail 72 hours before its official release to fans who downloaded an Android app.
