Lady Gaga will reportedly be the first ever artist to perform in space.

According to Us Weekly, Gaga will sing one song from a Virgin Galactic ship in 2015 and her performance will then be beamed to the Zero G Colony festival in New Mexico. A source told the gossip magazine: "She has to do a month of vocal training because of the atmosphere" adding "Gaga has taken out a ridiculous life insurance policy!".

The three-day Zero G Colony event will take place at Spaceport America, with Gaga's performance happening on the final day of the festival at dawn. Lady Gaga took to Twitter to say that she will confirm the news on the day before her new album 'ARTPOP''s UK release.

Azealia Banks was quick to respond to the news, writing on Twitter: "Kudos to gaga for trying to be original. but that space shit sounds hella dangerous. I bet fifty bucks she chickens out and cancels."

Gaga's new album 'ARTPOP' will be released on November 11. A string of tracks including the piano-led, Rick Rubin-produced ballad 'Dope', 'Mary Jane Holland', the R Kelly collaboration 'Do What U Want' and singles 'Applause' and Venus' have already been revealed by the singer.
