Lady Gaga is set to knock Eminem off the top spot in the Official Albums Chart this weekend with her new album 'ARTPOP'.

Official Chart Company data reveals that Gaga's new album sold nearly 47,000 in its first two days of release in the UK. It currently has a lead of more than 17,000 copies on its closest competitor, Celine Dion's 'Loved Me Back To Life', which is at Number Two. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (November 10).

Eminem now finds himself at Number Three with 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2', while elsewhere in the Official Album Chart, 2011 X Factor winners Little Mix are at Number Four with their new album 'Salute'. The Killers' greatest hits collection 'Direct Hits' (5) is also a high new entry at the midweek point.

There are a further seven new entries further down the chart with Alfie Boe (7), The Beatles (8) and Keane (10) all set to debut in the Top 10. Elsewhere, Cliff Richard (11), Daniel O'Donnell (14), Russell Watson (19) and Erasure (21) are all on course for Top 40 entries.

Meanwhile, in the Official Singles Chart Storm Queen's 'Look Right Through' is likely to lose its spot at Number One to 17-year-old Martin Garrix with 'Animal'. Should 'Animals' maintain its momentum through to Sunday, Garrix will become the second youngest star to top the Official Singles Chart this year after Lorde with 'Royals'

Elsewhere in the Official Singles Chart there are new entries at the midweek point for Lily Allen's cover of 'Somewhere Only We Know (2), Ellie Goulding (6), The Poppy Girls (8), Lady Gaga (9), Robbie Williams (11), Justin Bieber (17) and The Killers (25).
